What We Do

PAWS Houston is a non-profit organization that helps sustain relationships between pet owners and their pets.

Hospital Personal Pet Visitations
Program provides patients that are critical ill (sometimes unlikely to leave the hospital) the opportunity to visit with their own pets in their hospital room.  All patients excluding the bone marrow unit are eligible for a visit facilitated by a PAWS Houston Volunteer as long as the animal passes a special screening process.

Over 85% of the visits facilitated are to critical care areas in the hospital.

Foster Care
PAWS Houston provides foster care for our clients that do not have family or friends to care for their pets during:

  • Extended hospital stays
  • Lengthy treatment procedures
  • End of life
